The Resilient Change Practitioner: Helping Yourself and Others Prepare to Thrive in Turbulence
Organizations rarely take on one change at a time. The cumulative impact of multiple changes on leaders, change practitioners, and stakeholders can be overwhelming. By developing your own resilience and helping others in the organization build theirs, you can increase the likelihood of project success and help the organization build its readiness for future changes. In this workshop, Dr. Linda Hoopes, founder and president of Resilience Alliance and author of Prosilience: Building Your Resilience for a Turbulent World, will introduce you to the building blocks of resilience, provide practical guidance on strengthening your own resilience, and describe strategies for helping others become more resilient. You'll complete a self-assessment and walk away with ideas you can put into practice immediately for yourself and your organization.
Dr. Linda Hoopes has spent more than 25 years helping organizations build their change capability. She is passionate about helping people learn to thrive in turbulence. Her Atlanta-based firm, Resilience Alliance, has equipped internal and external change practitioners across the globe with tools and materials that help their clients increase their personal, team, and organizational resilience. Linda was a founding member of Conner Partners, a strategy-execution consulting firm led by change expert Daryl Conner. She is the author of Prosilience: Building Your Resilience for a Turbulent World (2017) and co-author (with Mark Kelly) of Managing Change with Personal Resilience (2004). An I/O psychologist by training, she has served on the faculties of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Rutgers University, and Colby College and is past president of the Atlanta Society of Applied Psychology. Linda brings many influences to her work on change and resilience—she is a musician, photographer, and sailor, and is also licensed as a massage therapist.
